The shop Edmonds families have used for generations
KC Martin Automotive is in Lynnwood, on the same road that leaves Edmonds as Puget Drive. Since 1948, drivers from the Bowl, Five Corners, Westgate, Seaview and Perrinville have made the short trip up 196th St SW to have us look after their cars. If you grew up in Edmonds, there’s a fair chance we worked on your parents’ car, and maybe your grandparents’.
It’s our goal to be your adviser for any car care need. You don’t have to know what’s wrong, and it doesn’t matter what you drive. Tell us what it’s doing and we’ll take it from there.
What Edmonds driving does to a car
Every town is hard on cars in its own way. In Edmonds it’s mostly these three:
- Hills. The streets that drop down to the waterfront work your brakes on the way down and your transmission on the way back up.
- Short trips. A run to the market, the ferry line, the school pickup. An engine that never fully warms up is harder on its oil, its battery and its exhaust.
- Salt air. Living near the Sound is easy on people and hard on metal. Exhaust parts and brake hardware rust sooner close to the water.
None of that is a reason to worry. It’s a reason to have someone look the car over regularly, which we do at every visit.

Taking the long view
Our shop takes the long view of your car. We use careful diagnosis to suggest only the repairs that are needed, and we report on the rest of the vehicle so you stay ahead of trouble and expensive surprises. Affordable service isn’t only the price of today’s repair. It’s also how long the repair lasts.
That approach is why new customers tend to become lifelong ones, and why we’ve been at this for more than 75 years.
