Old cars are part of the family here
Look at the mural on the side of our building and you'll see it: a car from 1948, one from 1968, one from 1988, and the ones we work on today. KC Martin has been around for all of them. Older cars are simpler in some ways and fussier in others, and they reward a shop that takes its time and knows how they were built.
Whether your classic is a show car, a weekend cruiser or a project that has been sitting in the garage, we treat it the way you would: carefully, and with the long view.

What we work on
- Engines. Tune-ups, carburetors, ignition, fuel delivery, leaks and the hard starts and rough running that come with age.
- Brakes. Drums, discs, lines, hoses and master cylinders, so it stops as well as it goes.
- Drivetrain. Automatic and manual transmissions, clutches and differentials.
- Cooling and heating. Radiators, water pumps, hoses and thermostats, to keep an old engine at the right temperature.
- Steering and suspension. Worn bushings, ball joints, shocks and steering boxes that make an old car wander.
- Electrical. Charging, starting, lights and tired wiring.
- Exhaust. Leaks, rusted pipes and mufflers.
Not sure whether your car or your project is something we take on? Call and ask. If it's outside what we do, we'll tell you straight.
How it works
- 1Tell us about the carCall us with the year, make and model, what it's doing and what you want out of it: running again, reliable enough to drive anywhere, or one problem sorted.
- 2We look it overBring it in (or have it towed in) and we'll go through it so we're both working from what the car actually needs.
- 3We talk through a planWe explain what we found and lay out the work, in stages if that suits the car and your plans for it. Parts for older vehicles can take time to track down, and we'll be upfront about that.
- 4We do the work you approveNothing happens without your OK, and we keep you posted along the way.
