A/C systems are complicated. Fixing them is what we do.
Your car’s air conditioning is a sealed loop of refrigerant, a compressor, a condenser, an evaporator and a set of hoses and seals, all controlled by sensors. When one part quits, the whole system stops cooling. We have the tools to pin down which part it is and the experience to fix it right, whether your system is brand new or decades old.
Symptoms of an air conditioning problem
- Air that isn’t cold, or that starts cold and warms up
- Noise from the compressor when the A/C is switched on
- A bad smell from the vents, often musty or sour
- Temperatures that come and go from one drive to the next
- Weak airflow, even with the fan on high
- Water on the passenger-side floor

Why a recharge alone usually isn’t the fix
Refrigerant doesn’t get used up. If the system is low, it leaked out somewhere. Topping it off without finding the leak buys you a few cool weeks and then you’re back where you started. We find the leak first, repair it, and then charge the system to the amount your car calls for.
What we repair
- Leaks at hoses, seals, fittings and service ports
- Compressors and compressor clutches
- Condensers and evaporators
- Blower motors, controls and blend doors
- Cabin air filters, which are behind a lot of weak-airflow and odor complaints
- Complete system replacement when repair no longer makes sense
It isn’t only for August
Around here the A/C earns its keep in winter too. It dries the air that clears a fogged windshield, so a weak system shows up as a defroster that can’t keep up on a wet morning. If yours takes forever to clear, have us check it. And if the problem is no heat, see our car heater repair page.
