An independent Lynnwood shop for your Subaru
Around here a Subaru is about as common as a rainy Tuesday. They suit the Northwest: all-wheel drive for wet roads and trips over the passes, and room in the back for the dog and the gear. KC Martin has serviced all makes and models for more than 75 years, Subarus included.
A Subaru is built a little differently from most cars, and it helps to have a mechanic who knows where to look. The flat “boxer” engine sits low and wide in the car, and the all-wheel-drive system has its own fluids and parts that need looking after.
You don’t need the dealership to keep your warranty
You do not have to take your Subaru back to the dealership for routine service to keep it under warranty. What matters is that the maintenance is done on schedule and documented. We follow Subaru’s schedule and give you the records.
Due for a 30K, 60K or 90K service? We’re ready for it. Give us the model, year and mileage and we’ll tell you what Subaru calls for.

Common Subaru repairs and services
- Scheduled maintenance and oil changes, with the oil Subaru specifies
- Timing belts on the older engines that have them. Most newer Subarus use a timing chain instead.
- Valve cover gaskets and spark plugs, which take more work to reach on a boxer engine
- CVT and differential fluid service, front and rear, with the right fluids for an all-wheel-drive car
- Wheel bearings, axles and CV boots
- Head gasket leaks on the older 2.5-liter engines, which can seep oil or coolant as the miles add up
- Brakes, suspension and wheel alignment
High-mileage Subarus
Plenty of Subarus around Lynnwood are well past 150,000 miles and still going. Those are the cars where catching a small leak early saves the most. When yours is up on the lift, we look it over and tell you what we see: what needs doing now, what can wait, and what to keep an eye on.
One shop for everything in the driveway
If you have a question about your Subaru or its warranty, give us a call. And if the other cars in the family aren’t Subarus, bring those too. One shop can look after all of them.
